Webinar: Using KM to Improve Training

On July 24, 2013, from 12 – 1 pm ET, the GHKC held a webinar focused on using blended learning strategies to enhance training.

During this webinar, JHU∙CCP’s Lisa Mwaikambo will provide an overview on the advantages of blended learning, an instructional design approach to designing a blended learning intervention, and the opportunity to share experiences on implementing blended learning interventions.

Through the USAID-funded Knowledge for Health (K4Health) Project, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health’s Center for Communication Programs and Management Sciences for Health developed a Blended Learning Guide (http://globalhealthlearning.org/sites/default/files/page/b-learning-060613.pdf) to help answer these questions.

“Blended learning,” the combination of a variety of learning media (face-to-face, online, print, social media) and learning environments (instructor-led, teamwork, peer-to-peer interaction, self-study and individual work), enables more opportunities for application and support to learners than face-to-face or eLearning alone. The K4Health Blended Learning Guide walks the user through how the Global Health eLearning (GHeL) courses can enhance other learning activities and help learners to not only acquire new knowledge, but also apply it.
